  1. Recorded two further signings from the five governor-sent bills: SB 315 (AI Safety Measures Act) — signed July 6, 2026 as PA 104-0538, the first U.S. law to require independent third-party audits of frontier-model safety — and SB 3114 (Transparency in Downcoding Act) — signed July 10, 2026 as PA 104-0568. Both moved to the enacted statutes (effective January 1, 2027 and January 1, 2028, respectively), and a Frontier AI sector was added. SB 316 and SB 317 remain awaiting gubernatorial action within the constitutional 60-day window.

  2. Rebuilt the reference on Astro with a single typed data source. Every headline count is now computed from the data rather than typed by hand, every law and bill carries a dated primary source, and the design was brought into full alignment with techne.ai. This resolves the earlier cross-page contradictions (a dashboard that read “9 enacted” against an enacted page that read “5,” and a “3 sectors” summary that listed four).

  3. Recorded the first signing from the five governor-sent bills: SB 318 (Ticket Bot Prevention Act) was signed June 25, 2026 as PA 104-0474 and moves to the enacted statutes, taking effect January 1, 2027. Confirmed HB 3851's Public Act number as PA 104-0338 (now in force). Added a Consumer Protection sector.

    SB 318HB 3851

  4. Verified all bill statuses against ILGA following spring adjournment. Confirmed five AI bills — SB 315, SB 316, SB 317, SB 318, and SB 3114 — passed both chambers and were sent to the Governor.

    SB 315SB 316SB 317SB 318SB 3114

  5. Recorded the Illinois Department of Human Rights’ withdrawal and postponement of its proposed rules implementing the AI Employment Discrimination Act (PA 103-0804). The statute remains in effect while rulemaking is paused.

    HB 3773

  6. SB 315 passed the House 110–0 and joined the bills sent to the Governor, positioning Illinois to become the first U.S. state to mandate independent third-party audits of frontier-AI safety practices.

    SB 315

  7. The AI Employment Discrimination Act (PA 103-0804) and the Public Education AI Guidelines (PA 104-0399) took effect.
