What it does

Would require operators of AI companions to maintain a protocol for detecting and addressing a user's suicidal ideation or expressions of self-harm, disclose that the user is interacting with an automated system, and take reasonable steps to prevent content harmful to minors. Senate Floor Amendments 2 and 3 were adopted before Senate passage; the House did not pass the bill.
